Lochaber Newton Room

Monday, 3rd June 10am – 12.30pm

Energy 4 Me is a resource designed by the Society of Petroleum Engineers.  It explores the story of  our modern day use of fossil fuels from their formation, to how we explore and extract the substance.  The lessons are fun and easy to use in a classroom STEM context.  The session covers many of the Planet Earth and Materials and Topical Science CfE links – it is especially relevant in light of the Extinction Rebellions current campaign and the war on plastics.

Apply for either of these courses on the CPD website.

We are currently busy organising Renewable  Training sessions across the Highlands.  These sessions aim to take an IDL overview of the topic.  Participants will make a wind turbine, and have access to resources which will inspire an investigative approach to Renewable Energy and the pros and cons of different types.

We have confirmed the following dates:

14th May – Brora Primary, 4pm

15th May – Inverness STEM Hub at UHI, 4pm

22nd May – Ullapool, MacPhail Centre, 4pm

28th May – Portree Primary, 4pm

3rd June – Lochaber Newton Room, Caol, Fort William, 1pm

3rd June – Thurso Newton Room, 1pm
